Rose Carleo. Time Is Now.

As a young performer Rose Carleo sang backing vocals for Jimmy Barnes during the release of his “Soul Deep” album in 2000 and her trio, Sweet Revenge, supported Vanessa Amorosi’s Perth performance during her 2000 Western Australian tour.

The brand new single "Time Is Now" is out now. It marks a slight departure from Rose's previous recorded efforts, which could be best described as blues-laced contemporary country music.

Time Is Now was written by Rose, long-time song writing partner Drew McAlister and real life partner Mick Adkins and produced by Multi ARIA award winning Mark Opitz, Colin Wynne, Rose and Mick.

After working consistently as a performer in her home town of Perth, she ventured east, moving to Brisbane to explore future possibilities for her country music career.
In 2006 Rose hit the studio to record her debut EP with esteemed producer Brendan Radford. The combination of both artist and producer culminated in a product that had something for all music lovers to enjoy.

Rose’s first single, Freedom was released to radio June 2006 and was followed by Whisper later that year. The film clip for “Whisper” was recorded at the 2006 Toyota Country Music Muster in Gympie and was shown to all passengers travelling on VirginBlue via their Inflight screens for several months. Rose went on to be a finalist in the 2007 Toyota Star Maker competition during the Tamworth country music festival. Mid 2007 saw Rose teaming up again with producer Brendan Radford for the release her album Everything I Need.

Co-writing tracks for the album with 2007 Golden Guitar winner, Drew McAlister, the first single from the album, 'Til I Find Me Again reached the top 40 on the Country Music Channel (CMC) chart.
Drew also made a special appearance on the third single to be released, “Sometimes You Just Know”. The duet saw Rose and Drew receive a Golden Guitar Vocal Collaboration finalist nomination and win the TIARA Award for Vocal Collaboration of the Year both in January 2008. The track also jumped into the top 10 on the Country Tracks Chart.

Rose’s songs are contemporary tales of taking control, of accepting that things aren’t always what you hoped, and moving on.
“When I’m writing songs, I look for catalysts — maybe things that have happened to me, but often stuff I’ve observed in other people’s lives. The crucial thing is to find a universal message in the song, something everyone can relate to,” Rose said.
“I see “Everything I Need” as a really positive album, even though it explores a wide range of emotions.” “It’s about taking control and living live to the fullest — about making the most of where you are and what you have.”
