A Baza in The Garden Of Oz

Image
There is a huge variety of bird life to be seen around Sydney, and much of it is familiar to amateur bird watchers like me. However, as I walked toward the 17th tee at Roseville Golf Course the other day, I was distracted (this happens every few minutes), by the movements of a large bird in the tall red gum in front of me. As the others teed off, I wandered a bit closer and craned my neck to look up to identify this bird, but couldn't. It was strange to me. No-one in my group knew what it was. Later that day, one of the group rang. "Have a listen to this" he said. Here's the link to the bird's call. "It's a Baza!" he said. I had no idea what he was talking about, so I searched for information and here's what I found... There's lot of info about the Baza here.. http://www.wiresnr.org/Pacificbaza.html Oh well back to the course for more bird watching.
