Ricky Martin to Emma Pask: 'I am recording a Brazilian album and I want you to be part of it'

Emma Pask is an Australian jazz vocalist. She is best known for her work with big bands and her continuing collaboration with noted Australian virtuoso James Morrison. She competed on the Second Season of The Voice Australia but was eliminated in the Showdown rounds. In April 2013, Emma auditioned for Season 2 of The Voice (Australia) and was placed on Joel Madden's team as he was the only coach to turn his chair. She was defeated by Lyric McFarland in the Battle Rounds but was given a second chance when Ricky Martin chose to use his only save on her, now making her a member of his team. While she was unsuccessful during the Showdown rounds, Ricky requested that she join him in recording a Brazilian album he is currently working on after her performance of Brazilian hit song 'Mas que Nada'. "I'm going to throw a bomb here... I am recording a Brazilian album and I want you to be part of it" says Grammy-award winner Ricky Martin after Emma Pask

The Delltones. "Keep on raging to stop the ageing".

Australia knew that it loved the Delltones in 1958, when the four young lifesavers, Noel Weiderberg, Brian Perkins, Warren Lucas and Ian 'Peewee' Wilson , appeared gawky, gangly and hopeful at the Bronte Surf Club, then in Australian stadium 'Big Shows' with mentor Johnny O'Keefe, on pioneering radio show Rockville Junction and television shows Six O'Clock Rock and Bandstand, and finally on record with their debut top twenty hit, the Crows' doo wop standard Gee.  The Delltones were part of a burgeoning rock 'n' roll environment which largely invented itself; part of a community which drew guitar patterns on Fantales boxes in darkened cinemas, ran sprawling suburban dances with pug nosed boxers as bouncers, blew international touring acts off stage with raw, blustery energy, and gleefully upset the social order of a young and conservative country. Since the sixties, the Delltones have bee entertaining Australian audiences. Ian

Grace Knight. Still Cool.

Image
With Aria nominations and chart topping recordings in each of the past three decades, Grace Knight has had a  career spanning over thirty five years.  She blew audiences away throughout the eighties as lead singer of internationally successful band Eurogliders, lit up the screen in ABC TV’s award winning mini-series, "Come In Spinner" and during her jazz career, Grace has done performances for five Australian Prime Ministers, President Clinton of the United States, Princess Diana, and the Thai Royal Family. Grace writes on her Facebook, "A couple of months ago we did a fundraiser at Healesville High School to help some young friends of mine, Emily & Thomas McKenzie, raise money to build some school classrooms in Kenya. They had the official opening a couple of weeks ago and  have started work on the next lot of rooms. These are some photos from the day.
