Word Got Out at The Django Bar
Jep and Dep are Jessica Cassar and Darren Cross (Gerling/Darren Cross Solo) a folk-noir, country twanged duo from Sydney. They have just launched their debut album WORD GOT OUT at Django Bar, Camelot Lounge. Jep and Dep’s sound harks back to the way songs were recorded in the 60’s with a focus on the song and nothing but the song. Their lyrics are tender and soulful with melodies and performances to match. Jessica’s etherial voice mixed with Darren’s gravely tone makes a sound that is distinctly Jep and Dep. This year the duo have supported music legends ranging from Johnny Marr (The Smiths), Mia Dyson, Jen Cloher with Courtney Barnett, Lindi Ortega and Kristin Hersh as well as playing every folkie-hole in the wall from Tasmania to Berlin.
