They flash at me in neon as I tear on by, focussing on my goal. In fact there's a real excitement and freedom in racing down a track to an unknown destination.</p><p>"Cockatoo Exhibit" could be the first of a series of works using colours of the outback dust, the whirly winds, the untold tales of Gondwanaland, and the almost hidden wildlife, mixed up in a medium that is a far cry from all those things.</p><p><br /></p><p></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXrj3V3ThZR5QlmuncZRPAWVMK07Tmr1rr9W9uBBKwgg2HAhLHZOjzNezV65tx0qe6RzrGe6vwX6uwbt8-_OVVWDBgnjzv3ZUHhrjAK6N6Ut-ceN0dYmHd6zzoVI7XS0-s1MHWMwl40WsyqyTPc6Q0GN6jMBLGfgKotXxL3ysYRU7JrP0Lvc8w1g/s10000/Cockatoo%20Exhibit%20.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="10000" data-original-width="10000" height="507" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXrj3V3ThZR5QlmuncZRPAWVMK07Tmr1rr9W9uBBKwgg2HAhLHZOjzNezV65tx0qe6RzrGe6vwX6uwbt8-_OVVWDBgnjzv3ZUHhrjAK6N6Ut-ceN0dYmHd6zzoVI7XS0-s1MHWMwl40WsyqyTPc6Q0GN6jMBLGfgKotXxL3ysYRU7JrP0Lvc8w1g/w507-h507/Cockatoo%20Exhibit%20.jpg" width="507" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Cockatoo Exhibit</td></tr></tbody></table><div><br /></div><div><span style="background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(113, 113, 113); color: #717171; font-family: "Josefin Slab"; font-size: 15px;">And if you would like to share, please visit my </span><a href="https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/RussellJonesDesign" style="color: #36a4bb; font-family: "Josefin Slab"; font-size: 15px; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Etsy Shop.</a></div>Russell Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15183199183406657347noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8423048444357103164.post-68144007570762033082022-05-08T14:23:00.007-07:002022-05-09T22:09:32.150-07:00A Brett Whiteley Point Of View<p>I've always been inspired by Brett Whiteley. It is his complete disregard for conventional composition that I like. Elements in his paintings slip to the bottom of the frame. I love his disproportionate human figures, the odd scale of objects and the free style of his line work.</p><p>He also teaches me that it's no shame to be inspired by the works of others. I think his inspiration came from Matisse and in some instances, Van Gogh.</p><p>Therefore, I am at peace with the idea of being inspire by both.</p><p>Were they all alive today, I have no doubt that some of their work, at least, would be digital.</p><p>I have made a decision to create all my work that way, and have begun this way.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfJT6KbP7d1r96VrtSaNW5yEJs0j7qD6OXcNcobW80Bm1zWLaxwClx5f5HA4Rg8d0JN9TqzZr10veuP15zjeduggrixx2fjNGCZYXjfyEKT_AK3UCN_xCwoNC9hlRQrw7CWI8GBX9lgTX2ocme0VYH_j_AjhDmu_aTqzVmuLCFSJHeEVI92db7gw/s9999/LA%20Point%20of%20View%20.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="9999" data-original-width="9999" height="445" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfJT6KbP7d1r96VrtSaNW5yEJs0j7qD6OXcNcobW80Bm1zWLaxwClx5f5HA4Rg8d0JN9TqzZr10veuP15zjeduggrixx2fjNGCZYXjfyEKT_AK3UCN_xCwoNC9hlRQrw7CWI8GBX9lgTX2ocme0VYH_j_AjhDmu_aTqzVmuLCFSJHeEVI92db7gw/w445-h445/LA%20Point%20of%20View%20.jpg" width="445" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Los Angeles Point Of View</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p>Not only a painting, but a slice of life, a story. You, the viewer should not be frustrated because you don't know the story. It is your story to tell. Make of it what you will. That's how I intend to approach my art. Enjoy. Imagine that!<b>In my efforts to promote "Adios Goorialla", a screenplay I wrote recently, I sought a suitable writer to help me to novelize the storyline. </b><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0875ZK239"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="985" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TuQMzN9U9kI/XtYmN9pi4HI/AAAAAAAAQ1A/6I2DtG5b3poVl3qd7JW0hsUjVpV0vHWrwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/ebook%2Bcover%2B.jpg" width="197" /></a></span></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0875ZK239">Adios Goorialla Kindle ebook</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<b>The result was astonishing for two reasons. </b><br />
<br />
<b><br /></b>
Firstly, after assessing a few candidates, I was very impressed with one in particular. She was deft in her control of the language, making me smile and shake my head while reading every email. So I appointed her and we began corresponding. Then suddenly, she wrote, "Are you the same Russell Jones that lived in Drummoyne a long time ago"? I quickly considered all the people in the long distant past named Louise. A couple we had a close acquaintance with 50 years ago had a child who they named "Louise". "Is that you?" I wrote back.<br />
"Spot on Uncle Russell" She answered.<br />
<br />
Secondly, although we have never caught up face to face as yet, modern communication has allowed us to collaborate to produce a book together. And I'm thrilled with the result."Adios Goorialla is now available as a Kindle ebook version and as a paperback.<br />
Meanwhile Louise, an English tutor, is writing a student study guide, by her own volition, with a view to advancing it as a study book.<br />
Imagine that!<br />
<i><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></i>
<i><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Synopsis: In a dark, dark, cave on a secret, sacred island, in the middle of a lake, in the middle of Australia…</span></i><br />
<div style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-kerning: none;"><i><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Russell Jones’ screenplay and Lou Preston’s novelization bring the Australian Outback to life – its unforgiving landscape and characters alike.</span></i></span></div>
<div style="font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal;">
<span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;"><i><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">A thrilling tale of what happens when things go wrong, and the hand of Conspiracy offers a tempting, but chilling, way out. </span></i></span></div>

Over the years, resilience has focused on improving the behaviours of children so that their actions would foster assets for their positive youth development.</div>

The recent addition of neuroscience in education, which is referred to as Brain-Based Education, invites us to explore and include the understanding of brain function that underpins the motivation for behaviours. This allows us to understand the presence of unhelpful behaviours in children and help us support and redirect children’s internal resources. </div>

Activating hope, positivity and perseverance [just to name a few]are less likely to trigger the HPA Axis in the brain, which is the stress activation system. Learning and memory is enhanced when stress remains low. This same rule applies for Mental Fitness; the brain’s optimal state of neurological functioning. </div>

The Seahorse in this book refers to the brain’s Hippocampus. According to neuroscience, this is the brain’s centre for resilience modulation. So nurturing this organelle in the brain’s limbic system means stronger neural connections in this area. </div>

In summary, the more BEEs we can harness in our heads, the greater the resilience-building capacity. BEEs make ‘honey’ - and in neuroscience, the ‘honey’ represents the BDNF [Brain-Derived Neurotropic Factor] enzymes in the Hippocampus that are responsible for neuroplasticity, neurogenesis and neural strength. In essence, ‘honey’ is food for our neurons".</div>

Become an official Sketchbook artist in The Brooklyn Art Library. My daughter, Michelle surprised me recently with this little package: a 32 page sketchbook measuring 12.5cms X 18cms. They are encouraging creative storytelling, so I don't think a collection of random drawings would be the answer. It needs a theme. I had a story in my head and couldn't wait to get started.<br />

If you would like to be part of collection of 45,000 artists' sketchbooks from 130 different countries, The Brooklyn Art Library is facilitating this with a project that is designed to encourage creative storytelling, within a global community.<br />
<br />
Visit the sketchbook project site: <a href="https://www.sketchbookproject.com/">https://www.sketchbookproject.com/</a><br />
<br />
You must create an account, order a sketchbook and link your book to the website. Enjoy! See you there!<br />
